        On April 3rd I attended the MIS kickoff which introduced the MIS/Analytics club and about internship possibilities. The mixer was help by Dr. Chung and scholar Youssef Aljabi. MIS is one of the topics we talked about in class and it has a big thing to deal with a business, as it helps record data and look into what your sales are for a period and can also tell what type of data you need to look for in a business. 

        During the MIS mixer it helped to get in depth details about how the job actually works and how it helps a future business owner like me get knowledge about your business and the data that you can see in you business. The MIT technology review talks a lot about the science that's involved in the business. Data is very important in your business to help you decide what you need or not to do in your business. This mixer helped me realize to not to be afraid to ask questions and to get involved in clubs to help expand your resume to be more of a person that someone wants in their job when looking for new employees. For the type of job I’m looking for or anyone that’s looking for one needs to get out and gain more knowledge in the field they’re looking to get into and network with people to get your foot through the door.

           This made me think about the sooner I get started on some of the lessons I’ve earned during this mixer, the sooner I can get the dream job I’ve always wanted. The main thing is to not sit around and hopefully that job comes to you, you’re going to have to work hard to get where you want in life so it’s important that every day you learn something knew that will help you succeed in the future to better yourself. I also learned that these mixers help us get our foot in the door that will help us meet new people that may not be the job that we want but could help us get a foot in the door with someone they may know.

IA2 Cory King

             My interview was with a graduate student who has his degree in personal training and a business owner himself. He fell in love with hockey growing up but never had the money to play because of how expensive it's. He grew up playing football and became a collegiate wrestler and became a personal trainer for football and eventually became a personal trainer for high collegiate and pro athletes for hockey. I became really good friends with him once he began to start training me and he's my role model because he came from nothing into a business owner and loves waking up everyday to do the job he loves. His facility consist of a full weight training area and a turf field for off ice conditioning with three ice rinks to work on our on ice skills.
